Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario ? On 29 April, 2011 at 11:40 p.m., while on general patrol police observed a white Grand Prix eastbound on Bell Blvd at a high rate of speed. This vehicle was eventually stopped on Cannifton Road in front of the Yardman Arena. Further investigation resulted in Curtis Baron (32 years) of Belleville being charged with Operation of a Motor Vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol. Baron will appear in Provincial court on 19 May, 2011.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 2 May, 2011 at 2:42 a.m., police were called by ambulance to attend in the Herchimer Avenue and Dundas Street East area to assist with a Red Intrepid that was driving the wrong way of the west bound lanes of Dundas Street, East. This vehicle was reported to have front end damage. Investigation of this incident revealed that this vehicle had struck the median on Dundas Street East in front of the fire hall. The driver of this vehicle has been charged with Impaired Driving and Failure to Provide Breath Samples. Jacqueline Woolley (37 years) of Belleville will appear in Provincial court on 19 May, 2011.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ontario ? On 29 April, 2011 at 9:28 p.m., police attended at a collision involving a fire truck and a Toyota Rave 4. The fire truck and the Toyota were east bound on Dundas Street East. The fire truck was responding to a structure fire in the Point Ann area (lights and sirens activated). The Toyota suddenly stopped while in the middle lane of Dundas Street East and was subsequently struck by the fire truck. The driver of the Toyota was charged with "Failure to pull to right for an emergency vehicle?. Police are reminding drivers of the duty to bring their vehicles to a standstill when approaching or being overtaken by an emergency vehicle with lights and siren activated.

Stolen Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario ? On 30 April, 2011 at 10:05 a.m., police attended at residence on Cedar Street in response to a complaint of a stolen vehicle. The owner reported that sometime between 3:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. unknown person(s) stole a white 2001 GMC minivan. This van is described as a camper style with tinted windows, with chrome rims and handicapped permit in the front windshield. This van has Ontario plates BJXZ 209 on the front and rear. This investigation is ongoing.
