Robbery Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 7:20 pm on November 1, 2012 officers were called to the Front Street / Dundas Street East area of the city to investigate a report of a robbery. The victim was approached by two male youths and threatened with brass knuckles before being thrown to the ground. He was robbed of a small quantity of money before the males fled on foot. The suspects were located nearby by police and arrested without incident. Both had a set of brass knuckles on their person and one had a small quantity of marijuana as well. The victim was not injured. A 14 year old male now faces charges of Robbery, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was released to the custody of his parents on a Promise to Appear. A 17 year old male faces charges of Robbery and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. He was held for a Bail Hearing on November 2, 2012. Neither accused person can be identified under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Break and Enter Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 5:20 pm on November 1, 2012 police were called to a Cannifton Road business to investigate a report of a break and enter. Sometime between 1:00 pm on October 30th and 10:00 pm on October 31st, unknown suspects cut a hole in the fence at the rear of the property then broke another hole in the garage to gain access to the building. A DVD player was reported stolen from inside. The investigation is continuing and anyone with any information about this occurrence is asked to call the Belleville Police Service or Quinte Crimestoppers.
