Impaired/Over 80 Charges Laid
Belleville, Ontario - On the 6 January 2011 at 11:57 p.m., a serious motor vehicle collision occurred on Tracey Street, Belleville. The lone male occupant was transported to Kingston General Hospital with serious life threatening injuries.
An investigation conducted by reconstructionists from Belleville Police Service Traffic Management Unit resulted in the driver being charged.
On 19 April 2011, Christopher Lowell Smith (27 years) of Belleville was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Operation of a Motor Vehicle with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol and Drive Motor Vehicle While Prohibited.
Smith will appear in Provincial Court on 5 May, 2011.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 19 April, 2011 at 6:51 p.m., employees from a North Front Street business reported a possible impaired (female) driver that was last seen southbound on North Front Street. Investigation led police to the residence of the registered owner on Donald Street and at that time police observed a female exiting the vehicle. Further investigation resulted in Luanne Martin (37 years) of Belleville being charged with one count each of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operation of Motor Vehicle with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol.
Martin will appear in Provincial court on 28 April, 2011.

Suspicious Person
Belleville, Ontario ? On 19 April, 2011 at 3:51 p.m., police attended at a school in the west end of Belleville in response to a complaint of a suspicious male. Investigation revealed that a 13 year old female was walking eastbound on a footpath that connects Gilbert and Lemoine Streets. While walking she noted a male walking westbound towards her. This male is described as white, approximately 5'7? in height, dark hair, big lips, clean shaven, heavy set wearing a black hat (with a logo on front), black jacket and black sweatpants and within a short distance of the female, the male pulled the front of his pants down exposing his genitals.
Police are asking that anyone with any information that may assist in identifying this male to contact Belleville Police Service at 613 966 0882 or Crime Stoppers at 613 969 8477.

Break and Enter
Belleville, Ontario ? On 19 April, 2011 at 8:28 a.m., police attended at a business in the 400 block of Dundas Street East in response to a complaint of a break and enter that occurred sometime between 9:00 p.m. on 18 April, 2011 and 8:00 a.m. on 19 April, 2011. The owner reported that cash was stolen. This investigation is ongoing.
