Fail to Remain at Scene of an Accident

Belleville, Ontario On August 19th, 2012, at 12:20 p.m. Officers responded to a two-car accident at the intersection of Henry St. and Everett St. One car had left the roadway and was on top of a hedge up against a home on Henry St.. The driver of this car required medical attention for minor injuries. There was no sign of the second vehicle. Officers observed a licence plate on the roadway which belonged to the hit-and-run vehicle. The hit-and-run vehicle and driver were located a short time later at a residence in the City's east end. The 20 year old Belleville man was charged with Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign and Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident. He will appear in Traffic Court on October 1st, 2012.


Belleville, Ontario On August 19th, 2012, at 4:45 p.m. Police and Fire responded to a shed fire on Coleman St. The metal shed was scorched and some of the contents were destroyed. A male was observed in the vicinity walking towards the footbridge. He is described as a white male, 30 years of age, 6 ft tall, shaved head, wearing blue jeans and a white muscle shirt. Anyone with information on this Arson can call the Belleville Police Service or Crimestoppers.

On August 20th, 2012, at 12:26 a.m., Police and Fire responded to a structure fire on Graham St. in the City's west end. An exterior door was quickly extinguished resulting in very little damage. This was deemed to be a deliberately set fire. There is a continuing joint investigation with the Belleville Fire Department and Belleville Police Service.
