Belleville, Ontario ? On 18 December, 2010 at 12:56 a.m., police were called to a disturbance on Station Street. Police located a group of youths on Bleecker Avenue. Investigation of this disturbance led to the arrest of a 32 year old male for assault. It is alleged that the victim and some friends were chased from a Station Street residence and the victim was in the process of calling the police when the male came from behind and punched her in the head. Aaron Best (32 years) of Belleville will appear in Provincial court on 20 January, 2011.

Assault Police
Belleville, Ontario - On 18 December, 2010, at 0240hrs Belleville Police were called to the parking lot of a North Front Street business in response to a report of a large crowd of intoxicated people. Police intervened between two combatants then a third person engaged with the police. Bruce Bolyea (28 years) of Belleville has been charged with assault police and will appear in Provincial Court on 27 January, 2011.

Impaired Driving

The R.I.D.E. campaign specifically targets individuals that have consumed alcohol and then chose to drive. Through a variety of methods that include traditional "spot check lanes? members of the Uniform personnel will be out seeking opportunities to conduct enforcement and education with respect to drinking and driving offences.
Weekend Ride Stats -Officers involved in R.I.D.E. over the weekend worked Friday and Saturday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. and checked 1085 vehicles at check stops. From these checks there were 7 roadside screening device tests administered, 3 drivers were issued a 3 day license suspension, one driver was issued a 7 day license suspension.
Belleville, Ontario ? On 19 December, 2010 at 1:47 a.m., police were on general patrol when a vehicle was observed driving on North Front Street with no lights on. This vehicle was stopped on Bell Blvd. Investigation led to the driver of this vehicle registering a fail on a roadside screening devise and subsequently being served a 7 day driver's license suspension.
Belleville, Ontario - On 19 December, 2010 at 1:47 a.m., members of the R.I.D.E. were conducting a spot check. Investigation led to Ryan Muir (19 years) of Trenton being charged with Operation of Motor Vehicle with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol. Muir will appear in Provincial court on 20 January, 2011.

Motor Vehicle Collisions
Belleville, Ontario ? From 17 December, 2010 to 20 December, 2010 at 7:00 a.m. police investigated 18 motor vehicle collisions throughout the city. Only one of the 18 collisions report an involved driver complained of minor personal injury that did not require medical attention.

Public's Assistance
Belleville, Ontario ? On 18 December, 2010 at 6:22 p.m., police attended at a residence on Moira Street in response to a suspicious vehicle complaint. It was reported to police that a black Jeep Grand Cherokee (late 1990's to 2000) model, with 5 spoke rims was being operated by a male described as approximately 40 years of age, 5'9? to 5'10? with a slim build and curly dark hair spoke to two children in the parking lot of Sidney Inn Convenience Store. Police are seeking the publics' assistance in identifying this male.
