Intoxicated male

Belleville, Ontario On February 19th, 2013, at 4:30 p.m., a homeowner on Dunbar Street discovered that an unknown male had entered the residence and was passed out on the floor. The male appeared to be unresponsive which prompted the homeowner to call an ambulance. Firefighters responded at which point the male awakened and became combative. Police were summoned and the 43 year old Belleville man was arrested for public intoxication under the Liquor Licence Act.

Stolen vehicle

Belleville, Ontario Members of the Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigations Division are looking to speak with an elderly couple who may have picked up a hitchhiker late last month. The couple, described as being in their mid-60's and wearing "church clothes picked up the male hitchhiker on Highway 37 near Vanderwater Road on Sunday January 27th , 2013 at approximately 8:15 a.m.

The couple then drove the male to a location in Tweed where he was dropped off. Investigators would like to speak with this couple.

The investigation centers on a black 2002 Chrysler Neon 4 dr. that was reported stolen from Tracey Park Drive in Belleville on Jan. 26th, 2013. This vehicle was recovered by the Central Hastings OPP in a ditch on Palmateer Road north of Tweed on Jan. 27th, 2013. The vehicle had been set on fire.

A subsequent investigation by the OPP and Belleville Police have led to the arrest of a Belleville man on a charge of Possession of Stolen Property. Charged is Brian Phillips, 33 years, of Belleville.
