The Belleville Police Service responded to 88 calls for service between July 19th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and July 20th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.


Belleville, ON – On the 19th of July 2019, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Belleville Police Officers on patrol in the East end recognized a male known to them for having warrants for his arrest. 26 year-old Adam Wood of Belleville was arrested on his outstanding warrants and held for a show cause hearing on the 20th of July 2019. He will answer to fraud x2, possession of stolen property x2, theft, failing to appear for print and failing to appear for his scheduled court date.

Animal in distress

Belleville, ON – On the 19th of July 2019 at approximately 5:40 p.m., officers attended a north end business regarding a dog left in a vehicle. Security personnel had a digital thermometer and determined the internal temperature of the vehicle was 45 degrees Celsius. They were able to remove the dog from the vehicle and a short time later, the owner returned to the vehicle. A 19 year-old Belleville man was subsequently charged with causing an animal to be in distress under the OSPCA act.
