Update: Funds Raised
As a result of the Torch Run, Torch Run shirt sales and the Cops and Cowboys event last Thursday, June 16, 2016, the Belleville Police Service raised $2165.45 for Special Olympics.
A special thank you to PC Darrell Hatfield for all his hard work as well as the community for continuing to support this worthwhile and meaningful event.
Belleville Police and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics
Belleville (Belleville, Ontario) – The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is pleased to announce the 2016 leg of the run will take place on Thursday, June 16th. The run will leave the Quinte Mall at approximately 9:00am and make its way down North Front Street to the Market Square behind City Hall.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run and the Belleville Police Service are proud to continue a partnership that will bring together local Officers and Local Special Olympic Athletes in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics programs across Ontario.
Funds that are raised through Torch Run events support community-based Special Olympics Ontario activities. It assists community programs with a variety of expenses including travel to games, accommodations, meals, staff support, grants to new community programs, athlete training, public education, volunteer/coach training and development initiatives like school programs.

Cops and Cowboys Event at Lone Star Bar and Grill
On Thursday, June 16, 2016, during lunch and dinner hours, Belleville Police Officers will be rolling up their sleeves, taking orders and serving meals in support of a great cause. In cooperation with the Lone Star Bar and Grill, officers will be accepting tips as donations to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Athletes.
Last year, close to $1,300.00 was raised in this event – the goal this year is to reach $1,500.00 raised.
Please come out to the Lone Star this Thursday and enjoy some great food for a good cause!!!
