Accident with injuries

Belleville, Ontario – On May 19th, 2013, at 9:00 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Pinnacle Street and Bridge Street East. A Dodge Dakota truck had collided with a Pontiac Montana van. A passenger in the Dodge Dakota received minor injuries. The driver of the Pontiac Montana had to be extricated from his vehicle by Belleville Fire Department. He was taken to Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries.

Members of the Belleville Police Service Traffic Management Unit are continuing the investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is asked to contact Constable Brad Stitt at (613) 966-0883 ext. 2227.


Belleville, Ontario –On May 19th, 2013, police concluded a month long investigation into a complaint of domestic assault that occurred in Belleville on August 26th, 2012. As a result, a 25 year old Prince Edward County man has been charged with assault and mischief to property. He will appear in court on June 3rd, 2013. The victim was not injured in this incident.


Belleville, Ontario –On May 19th, 2013, a male attended at the station to report a robbery. The male advised that at around 10:00 p.m., he was accosted by three males on Front St, near City Hall. The three males were wearing black ski masks. These males stole money from the complainant. The complainant was not injured. Anyone with information on this incident can contact Constable Miranda Orr or Crimestoppers.

RIDE Program

Belleville, Ontario – On May 20th, 2013, at 2:00 a.m. officers conducted a RIDE check on North Front St.

At 2:05 a.m. an officer on patrol stopped a car in the area of Cannifton Rd. at College St. East as it was driving erratically. A 26 year old Centre Hastings woman was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving. She was released with a courtdate of June 13th, 2013. The car was impounded for seven days.

At 2:15 a.m., the RIDE Team observed a vehicle drive through the RIDE check without stopping. The officers caught up the vehicle and a 43 year old Belleville man was arrested for Impaired Driving. He was released with a courtdate of June 6th, 2013. The car was impounded for seven days.

A total of 72 cars were checked during the RIDE Program.
