Belleville, Ontario – On October 19th, 2018, at 4:50 a.m. an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on Byron Street. One of the occupants had a purse that contained four knives. One of the knives was a butterfly knife which is a prohibited weapon. A further check on the 39-year old Belleville woman revealed that she was already bound by two weapons prohibition orders. The knives were seized and the woman was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possessing weapons while prohibited from doing so, and weapons dangerous. She will appear in court on November 29th, 2018.



Stunt driving


Belleville, Ontario – On October 19th, 2018, at 6:23 p.m. an officer clocked a southbound car on Hwy 62 at the 401 overpass at 111 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. The vehicle failed to stop at a red light. A 27-year old Belleville man was charged with stunt driving (more than 50 km/h over the limit), failing to stop at a red light, and failing to have a valid contract of insurance. He will appear in Traffic Court on November 5th, 2018. His licence was automatically suspended for seven days, and his car was impounded for seven days.
