Fail to Comply & Drug offences

Belleville, Ontario ? On September 19, 2010, at 2:00 a.m., police responded to a disturbance involving three males on Pine Street. Although a knife was reported to have been involved in this disturbance no knife was found nor was there any injuries reported. Further investigation revealed two of the males were on conditions of non communication with each as a result of a previous incident.

A 15 year old Trenton male was arrested and charged with 4 counts of Fail to Comply and one count of Possession of Cannabis. He was held in custody for a Bail Hearing set for September 20, 2010. A 15 year old Trenton male was arrested and charged with one count of Fail to Comply. He was released with a court date in October.

The name of the males cannot be released due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Stolen Vehicle / Possession

Belleville, Ontario ? On September 12, 2010, a vehicle was reported stolen from a residence in the north end of Belleville. The vehicle was a 2003 white Grand AM with plate BEDP05.

On September 17th at 4:00 p.m., the vehicle owner observed her vehicle being driven on Front Street in Belleville and followed it to a Marsh Drive address. Police attended and found two males on possession of the vehicle.

Michael BOYD, 20 years old from Belleville was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property. He was released with an October court date. A 15 year old Belleville male was also arrested however released unconditionally without charges under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Break & Enter(s)

Belleville, Ontario ? Belleville Police responded to three Break & Enters reported over the weekend.

On September 20th at 12:10 a.m., police responded to an alarm at the Wally Deaver Arena. On arrival it was determined entry had been gained to the building by suspects throwing a rock through a window. Further information was received that two male were observed entering this location. Both were wearing hoodies covering their heads, one wearing a blue coat and the other wearing a grey coat. Both were wearing dark coloured pants. One of the males is believed to be wearing white high top running shoes. Nothing was taken as a result of this entry.

On September 17th at 12:460 p.m., a home owner of Hillside Street reported suspects broke into his garage. Entry was gained within the past 24 hours and suspects removed various tools.

On September 18th between 2:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. suspects entered a home on Tracey Park Drive and took approximately $4000.00 in electronic equipment.

Domestic Assault

Belleville, Ontario ? On September 17, 2010, police responded to a Thurlow address in regarding a disturbance. Further investigation revealed the male living in the home had assaulted two female family members. A 37 year old male was arrested and charged with two counts each of Assault and one count of Mischief. He was subsequently released with a court date set in October 2010. The name of the male will not be released as to protect the identity of the victims.

Impaired Driver

Belleville, Ontario ? On September 19, 2010, at 11:45 p.m., police attended at a bar on North Front Street regarding a male who had been refused service. The male left the bar after being asked to do so via a taxi cab. At 12:20 a.m., the same police officer who had attended on North front Street observed a vehicle on Dundas Street East. As he approached the vehicle the driver attempted to back the vehicle up in another direction. The vehicle was stopped by police and the driver was recognized as the same male who was involved in the North Front Street incident. Martin Girard, 26 years old, from Quebec City was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor vehicle and Over 80 mgs. He was later released with a court date set in October.

Theft (s)? Wallets

Belleville, Ontario ? Belleville Police are investigating the theft of several wallets on September 20, 2010. These thefts occurred at various department and grocery stores in the City of Belleville and all were reported between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The victims in these thefts were senior females. The suspect and the ruse to steal these wallets were all similar.

The females were all shopping and were distracted by a female who then took their wallets.

In all incidents the female was described as 5'5?, dark frizzy hair, wearing a grey pant suit and carrying a red purse. She carried a black jacket folded over her arm and was also wearing sunglasses.

Two of the thefts occurred at a store on Sidney Street and one on North Front Street. At the North Front Street theft the suspect had her hair pulled up into a pony tail.

The fourth theft occurred at a store at the Quinte Mall where the suspect approached the victim and asked for her assistance in getting a picture from the wall. While the victim was assisting the suspect stole her wallet from her purse. The victim was further described as being slim, possibly being of East Indian decent and with a slight accent.

A short time later another victim was targeted at a Bell Blvd store. The suspect again removed the victim's wallet from her purse.

Police would like to remind the public to secure wallets within their purses and not to leave their purse easily accessible to thieves. If you are the victim of theft of a wallet you should immediately;

CDSA ? Search Warrant

Belleville, Ontario - On September 18, 2010 members of Project Longarm executed a CDSA search warrant at an address on Scuttlehole Road and Dunbar Street, both in the City of Belleville. No one was found at the address on Scuttlehole Road. Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.

Hit & Run

Belleville, Ontario ? On September 18, 2010, police responded to a Hit & Run motor vehicle collision on the parking lot at Dewe's on Dundas Street East Belleville. The accident occurred at 11:30 a.m., where the suspect vehicle sideswiped two parked cars in the lot. The suspect vehicle is described as a 1994 or 1995 Crown Victoria tan or brown in colour. The driver is a male and believed to be in his late 60's or early 70's. The vehicle should have damage the length of the passenger side.
