Serious Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, Ontario - On Saturday 8 December, 2012 at 5:11p.m. a serious injury motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Bridge Street West and Sidney Street.

A Belleville transit bus was travelling westbound on Bridge Street attempting to turn left onto Sidney Street southbound.

Investigation of this collision resulted in a 43 year old Trenton man being charged with Failing to Yield to Pedestrian.


Belleville, Ontario On Thursday, 20 December, 2012 at 10:04 a.m., police attended at Centennial Secondary School in response to a report of a threat. It was reported that one male student had made a threat to another male student. This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information in relation to this investigation is asked to contact Belleville Police Service at 613 966-0882 or Crime Stoppers at 613 969-8477.

Belleville, Ontario On Thursday, 20 December, 2012 at 2:50 p.m., police attended at St Theresa Catholic School in response to a report of an alleged threat made by student.

Belleville Police Service in conjunction with school staff conducted multiple interviews and at this time the threats were unsubstantiated.

The investigation is ongoing and there will be police presence at the school on Friday 21 December, 2012 as a preventative safety measure.


Belleville, Ontario On Thursday 20 December, 2012 at 11:25 p.m., police responded with Belleville Fire to a fire at Bridge Street East and Pinnacle Streets.

At this time the fire department is still on scene and police are requesting that motorists avoid the area and note that traffic is being diverted at Church and Bridge Street East, Pinnacle Street and Bridge Street and Campbell and Pinnacle Streets. This investigation is ongoing.
