Accidents

Belleville, Ontario –On December 20th, 2013, police responded to 13 accidents across the city. Two accidents resulted in personal injuries:

At 1:27 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Hwy 2 at Mitchell Rd. Two people were taken to Quinte Health Care for treatment of minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. A Belleville woman was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.

At 4:31 p.m. a pedestrian was struck in the crosswalk by a car on Dundas St. East at MacDonald Ave. The pedestrian, a female adult, was taken to Quinte Health Care for treatment of minor injuries. This investigation is ongoing. Any witnesses can contact the Belleville Police Service.

Theft

Belleville, Ontario – On December 20th, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. police attended at an apartment building on George St. in relation to a theft of three large recycling bins. Each is valued at $350.00, and they were taken sometime overnight. Any information can be forwarded to the Belleville Police Service or Crimestoppers.

Disturbances

Belleville, Ontario – On December 20th, 2013, at 8:30 p.m. police attended on N. Front St. in relation to an intoxicated male. A 53 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.

On December 20th, 2013, at 10:25 p.m. police attended at Quinte Health Care on Dundas St.E. in relation to an assaultive woman. A 19 year old Prince Edward County woman was arrested for assault after it was learned that she had assaulted two of the security guards. One guard was bitten on the arm, while the other was slapped across the face. She will appear in court on January 30th, 2014.

On December 21st, 2013, at 3:40 a.m. multiple calls were received about a car horn blaring on Dunbar St. An intoxicated woman was sitting in the parked car. The 23 year old Belleville woman was arrested for her own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.

RIDE Program

Belleville, Ontario –On December 20th, 2013 officers conducted RIDE checks throughout the city. Members of the QRTC (Quinte Regional Traffic Coalition) joined together as they checked 285 cars in Belleville. There were no impaired driving charges laid.
