Arrested on warrants
Belleville, ON – On December 20th, 2019, at 1:55 p.m. police arrested a 27-year-old Belleville man on an outstanding warrant on Front Street. The accused was held for a bail hearing on December 21st, 2019 on a charge of breach of probation.
Motor vehicle collisions
Belleville, ON – On December 20th, 2019, police responded to nine motor vehicle collisions.
At 5:37 p.m. police attended at Belleville General Hospital regarding a pedestrian who had been struck in the intersection of Dundas Street East and Herchimer Avenue. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian failed to remain at the scene. This vehicle was described as a black SUV. The pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.
Belleville, ON – On December 20th, 2019, at 7:52 a.m. police attended on Albert Street at Dundas Street East with regards to a disturbance. A 26-year-old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
Impaired Driver steals vehicle
Belleville, ON – On December 21st, 2019, at 3:11 a.m. police received a call from a male at the Super Duper on Bridge Street West that his truck had been stolen while it was idling out front of the store. An officer observed the vehicle stopping in front of a Dunbar Street apartment complex several minutes later. At this point the driver fled on foot. The male was located nearby and arrested. The keys to the stolen vehicle were located in his coat pocket. A 26-year-old Belleville man was held in custody for a bail hearing on December 21st, 2019 on charges of theft of a motor vehicle, impaired driving and breach of probation. There was no damage to the vehicle.
