Distracted Driving Campaign

Belleville, Ontario - During the previous week Belleville Police Traffic Management Unit participated in the provincial Distracted Driving Campaign. A total of 37 provincial offence notices were issued to drivers using or texting while driving within the City of Belleville. One motorist was charged with Stunt Driving for speeding 50km/h or more over the speed limit, the driver's license was suspended for 7 days and the vehicle was seized for 7 days. Another motorist was charged with using a radar detector and the device was seized.
