Belleville, Ontario ? On July 21 2009 at12:15 am, Police stopped a vehicle on Dundas Street West travelling at a high rate of speed. Further investigation of the driver determined he had been consuming alcohol. As a result, he was required to provide a sample of his breath into an Approved Screening Device, confirming he had consumed alcohol.Further investigation of the driver also revealed that he was a suspended driver, and that he had been recently released from custody on an Officer in Charge Undertaking with conditions. One of those conditions was to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. The male driver was arrested and taken into custody.A 24 year old Quinte West man has been charged with one count of Breach of OIC Undertaking as well as the offence of Speeding. He was also served with a Notice ofSuspension and is scheduled to appear in court in September 2009.
Theft From Motor Vehicles
Belleville, Ontario ? On July 21 2009 at approximately 8:33 am Police received a report of a vehicle entered on Stanley Street some time overnight.It appears that approximately $120.00 in cash and a quantity TD Bank line of credit cheques were stolen.
Belleville, Ontario ? On July 21 2009 at approximately 10:01 am, Police received a report of a 2009 Mazda vehicle that was entered while parked overnight at a residence on Evergreen Court. The vehicle appears to have been ransacked by unknown suspect(s). Nothing appears to have been stolen from inside the vehicle at this time.
Belleville, Ontario - On July 21 2009 at 10:15 am, Police received another report of a 2006 Hyundai vehicle entered and ransacked the glove box and console overnight on Evergreen Court.At this time, nothing appears to have been stolen.
Belleville, Ontario ? On July 21 2009 at 9:42 am, Police received another report from a resident on Gracefield Lane, that two vehicles were entered overnight. Both vehicles, a Chev Van and Volkwagon Jetta were ransacked but appears nothing was taken.
Belleville, Ontario ? On July 21 2009 at 11:49 am Police received another complaint of theft from a motor vehicle. Some time overnight unknown suspect(s) entered a Dodge Durango stealing a number of compact discs and a Garmin GPS.
Belleville, Ontario ? On July 21 2009 at 1:28pm, Police received a complaint of theft from motor vehicle sometime overnight at an apartment complex parking lot on Dundas Street West.The suspect(s) entered the vehicle, a Pontiac Grand Am, and removed a fishing rod, tackle box, a quantity of compact discs, and a small amount of cash. The vehicle was also ransacked. A short time later at 2:17 pm, officers fielded another call from this same location. Another Pontiac Grand Am parked within the same lot had also been entered and a Freeway car stereo was stolen.

On July 21 2009 at 2:56pm, Police received a complaint of theft from motor vehicles while parked in the driveway of a residence on Gracefield Lane.Suspect(s) entered the two parked vehicles ransacking them both and stealing a pair of sunglasses and a number of assorted compact discs from one of the vehicles.
Police are reminding the Public to lock or secure their vehicles and not to leave valuables in their vehicles.
Belleville, Ontario ? On July 21 2009 at approximately 9:15 am, Police received a report of a stolen bicycle sometime overnight. Information received was that the bicycle had been left on the balcony of an apartment building unlocked and was discovered missing this morning.The bicycle is described as a Diamond Back Insite 2, Blue Hybrid 23 inches valued at $350.00. Police had a serial number on file.
Motor Vehicle ? Hit & Run
Belleville, Ont. ? On July 21 2009 at approximately a hit and run occurred on Bridge Street West near Cedar Street..A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene, westbound on Bridge Street West and last seen near Dunbar Street.. The vehicle is described as a white, 2door Pontiac Grand Am, possibly 1999-2003 model.A possibly partial plate of BERV-??? was obtained.The suspect male driver is described as male, white with short blond hair, approximately 20 years of age.No other persons were observed in the vehicle.The pedestrian was taken to BGH where he luckily only sustained minor injuries.Anyone with any information on this accident please contact the Belleville Police Service.
