Multi Vehicle M/V Collision
On June 17, 2010, at 9:22 a.m., police responded to a multi - vehicle motor vehicle collision on North Front Street at Station Street. A Blue Ford Taurus had been travelling south bound on North Front Street when it entered the intersection, believed to be through a red light, at Moira Street. A second vehicle being driven east bound through the intersection was struck by the Ford.
After striking the second vehicle the Ford proceeded through the intersection and continued south bound. The Ford straddled the medium southbound over the Sagonaska Bridge and into the intersection at Station Street where it struck a light standard causing it to fall over.
The Ford continued into the intersection after striking the pole and struck a third vehicle that was stopped in the north bound lane within this intersection. This third vehicle was pushed back and it struck a fourth vehicle which was also pushed back striking a fifth vehicle. At this point the Ford came to a rest.
Police, Fire, Ambulance and Belleville Public Works were dispatched to the scene. Three people, including the driver of the Ford, were taken to Belleville General Hospital and treated for their injuries. All were released from BGH with the exception of the driver of Ford who was admitted and remains in their care. It is unknown the extent of any injuries.
