The Belleville Police Service responded to 64 calls for service between June 20th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and June 21st, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Belleville, Ontario – On the 20th of June 2019 at 9:06 a.m., police responded to the area of Bleeker Avenue regarding a two-vehicle collision. The collision was minor in nature with no injuries reported and minor damage to the vehicles. The incident is currently under investigation.

Belleville, Ontario – On the 20th of June 2019 at 12:43 p.m., police responded to the area of Dundas Street East for a two-vehicle collision. The Collision was minor in nature, with no injuries reported; and the involved parties were referred to the Collision Reporting Centre located at the Belleville Police Service, 93 Dundas Street East Belleville.

Belleville, Ontario – On the 20th of June 2019 at 5:17 p.m., police responded to Palmer Road regarding a two-vehicle collision. The Collision was minor in nature, with no injuries reported. There were no charges laid in the investigation as it occurred in a parking lot on private property.

Belleville, Ontario – On the 20th of June 2019 at 5:40 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Cannifton Road and Adam Street. The Collision was minor in nature, with no injuries reported. There were no charges laid as a result of the investigation.

Arrest made in downtown Assault

Belleville, Ontario – On June 18th 2019 at 7:01 p.m., police were called to the river-front trail west of  Front Street for a report of an altercation involving two men.  Several uniformed police units attended the area along with members of the Forensic Identification Services.  The scene was located and secured.  A 58-year old male victim was identified.  He was transported to Quinte Healthcare - Belleville General Hospital by EMS with facial lacerations and bruising. A suspect was identified and police prepared an arrest warrant for a 40 year-old city man who is now facing charges of assault and breach of probation.  Police would like to thank the members of the public who stopped and assisted in this matter with descriptions, tending to the victim, and for providing video of the captured event.

Police issued an arrest warrant for the 40 year-old Belleville City man, Denny Turcotte, who was arrested in the early morning hours of June 20th 2019.

Mr. Turcotte was held for bail on charges of assault and breach of probation.

Assault with a Weapon

Belleville, Ontario – On the 21st of June 2019 at 1:20 a.m., police responded to 179 Palmer Road regarding an assault with a weapon. Police learned that a female was sprayed with bear mace by another Belleville female suspect who was known by the victim.
