Motor vehicle collisions
Belleville - Police responded to 6 motor vehicle collisions during the past 24 hours, one of which involved minor injuries that did not require hospitalization. Drivers were charged in two of the accidents.
Belleville – At approximately 2:00 P.M. on the 20th of March police responded to an east end business in regards to the report of a theft. The female suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival however police were able to identify her as a 41 year old Belleville resident and she is currently being sought in order to be charged with theft.
Belleville – Police responded to an east end residence shortly before noon on the 20th of March where they took a report of a 28 year old Belleville male who had assaulted a 47 year old female. There were no reported injuries as a result of the assault and the male left before officers arrived. He is currently being sought by police in order to be charged with assault.
At 8:00 P.M. police were called to another east end residence where a 16 year old female reported being assaulted by an 18 year old Belleville male. The male was later located and arrested at a west end location and transported to The Belleville Police Service where investigation further revealed that he was on a probation order to keep the peace. He was later released on a promise to appear with officer in charge conditions on charges of assault and breach of probation. He is to appear in court next month to answer to the charges. There were no injuries sustained as a result of the assault and the identification of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
At 11:30 P.M. on the 20th of March police were called to yet another east end residence for an unwanted person. Upon arrival, investigation revealed that the unwanted party assaulted a 26 year old female occupant of the residence and damaged a door. Further, it was found that he was also on a probation order to keep the peace. A 27 year old Belleville male was arrested at the scene and is currently being held for a bail hearing later today to answer to the charges of assault, mischief and breach of probation. No injuries were sustained by the victim as a result of the assault.
Breach of undertaking
Belleville – Shortly after 10:00 P.M. on the 20th of March police were called to Quinte Health Care where a 17 yr. old male was refusing to leave after being seen by doctors. He then became aggressive and threatening towards staff and his care givers. He was arrested for breach of undertaking which he had been released on due to prior charges and taken to The Belleville Police Service where he is currently being held for a bail hearing later today on a single charge of breach of undertaking. No injuries were sustained by any involved parties and it was deemed at that time that no additional charges would be laid as a result of his initial behaviour at the hospital.
