Theft of Motor Vehicle ? Belleville, Ont.

At approximately 5:25 pm on May 20, 2012 police were called to a Cannifton Road North address to investigate a report of a stolen vehicle. Sometime between midnight and 5:00 pm someone stole a 2001 silver Nissan Maxima from the residence. The licence plate of the car is BMKR 732 and it had tinted windows and rust on the driver's side rocker panel. Unwanted Person ? Belleville, Ont.

At approximately 8:50 pm on May 20, 2012, officers were dispatched to a report of an unwanted person consuming drugs at a Sinclair Street address. Upon arrival, officers found the man still in the residence and in possession of a quantity of cocaine. When they attempted to arrest him he engaged in a physical confrontation with them before being subdued and taken from the home. Charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, and Breach of Undertaking is Stephen Joseph Thorne, 35, of Belleville. He was later released on a Promise to Appear and an Officer in Charge Undertaking. No one was injured in the altercation.

Assault ? Belleville, Ont.

At approximately 3:10 am on May 21, 2012 officers were called to a Tripp Avenue residence to investigate a report of a domestic occurrence. On arrival, they found that an intoxicated male at that location had struck his wife twice in the face. He was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service. A 37 Year old Belleville man faces one charge of assault as a result of the incident. He was later released on a Promise to Appear and an Officer in Charge Undertaking. The victim did not sustain any injuries and the name of the accused is being withheld to protect her identity.
