Belleville, Ontario On October 20th, 2014, at 9:43 p.m. police attended a two-car accident on North Front Street. One car had to be towed as the airbags had been deployed. A 40 year old Hastings woman was charged with careless driving. There were no injuries.


On October 20th, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. police attended in a parking lot on Bell Blvd. in relation to a two-car accident.  EMS attended to treat one of the drivers for minor injuries.  No charges as the accident occurred on private property.


On October 20th, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. police attended at Sidney St. and Bell Blvd. in relation to a three-car accident. There were no reported injuries. This investigation is continuing.



Arrest on warrant


Belleville, Ontario On October 21st, 2014, at 12:10 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Bleecker Avenue.  A check on a passenger revealed that the 44 year old Hamilton woman was wanted by the Belleville Police Service on a charge of breach of probation.  During the subsequent arrest and search 10 grams of marijuana was seized. She will appear in court in Belleville on November 20thon charges of breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance.



Fraud alert


Belleville, Ontario A number of citizens and local businesses were plagued with phone calls from unknown people purporting to be with a computer software company.  These callers are requesting that people allow them access to their computers. Once the suspects gain access they can remove money from bank accounts.  People are reminded not to provide credit card information nor should they allow anyone access to their personal computer.
