Assault & Threats
Belleville, Ont. - On September 21, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. Police charged a 14 year old youth in relation to an assault that took place at an area high school on Friday Sept. 18th. It was learned that the youth had punched another student in the washroom. The youth will appear in Youth Court in November on charges of Assault, Uttering threats, and Breach of probation. The victim suffered minor injuries in the assault.
Theft & Breach of Probation
Belleville, Ont. - On September 21, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., Police arrested a 17 year old youth in relation to a theft that occurred at a Belleville, Ont. - On September 21, 2009, downtown business in August. A fingerprint had been lifted by the Forensic Identification Unit on an exhibit that the youth had moved during the theft. The youth will appear in Youth Court in October on charges of Theft under $5000.00 and Breach of probation. A warrant has been issued for a co-accused in this matter.
Theft Over $5000. & Criminal Organization
Belleville, Ont. - On September 21, 2009, at 8:30 p.m., two persons were charged in relation to an ongoing theft investigation at a north end business. These charges stem from a June arrest of a cashier at this business. Large ticket items were voided by this cashier while the suspects were at the checkout. A joint investigation by the respective store security and Police has resulted in at least four customers being identified.
A 28 year old Belleville man faces 7 counts of Theft under $5000.00 as well as a charge of ?Commission of an offence for Criminal Organization.? This count requires three or more people who commit a criminal offence for a material benefit.
A 30 year old Belleville woman faces 9 counts of Theft under $5000.00 as well as a charge of Commission of an offence for Criminal Organization?.
Both will appear in court in December.
The total value of the stolen items has been estimated to be $60,000.00. The investigation is continuing.
Bail Violations (2)
Belleville, Ont. - On September 21, 2009, at 11:30 p.m., a 19 year old Belleville man was arrested in the City?s west end for breaching his bail conditions. He faces two counts of breach of a recognizance and was held for a Bail Hearing on Sept. 22nd.
Belleville, Ont. - On September 22, 2009, at 2:00 a.m., a 15 year old youth was arrested on the strength of warrant for violating the conditions of her probation. She was held for a Bail Hearing on Sept. 22nd.
