Pursuit from August 5th, 2012

Belleville, Ontario Belleville Police are appealing to the public for witnesses to come forward in relation to a police pursuit on August 5th, 2012.

Shortly after midnight on August 5, 2012 officers were involved in a pursuit of an impaired driver who was also criminally prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.

The course of the pursuit began in the west end of the city and proceeded north on Sidney Street from Graham Street. Police are specifically looking to speak with the drivers of motor vehicles who may have witnessed a portion of the pursuit at the intersection of College and Sidney streets.

The pursuit concluded at the intersection of Sidney Street and Vermilyea Road when the driver slid into the ditch. A 59 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with numerous offences including Impaired Driving.

Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario On September 20th, 2012, at 10:15 a.m. Police attended at a on Union Street in response to a break and enter. It was reported that sometime between 1:00 p.m. on September 19th to 10:00 a.m. on September 20th, unknown person(s) entered the residence and stole a laptop and a bicycle. This investigation is ongoing.


Belleville, Ontario On September 20th, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., Officers attended a disturbance on St. Charles St. A check on a 34 year old Belleville woman revealed that she was wanted by the Belleville Police Service on outstanding warrants. Her charges include two counts of Theft under $5000.00, Resist Arrest, and Fail to Appear in Court. She was held for a Bail Hearing on September 21st, 2012.

Domestic Assault

Belleville, Ontario On September 20th, 2012, at 6:00 p.m., Officers attended at a Domestic Disturbance in the City's west end. A 19 year old Belleville man was arrested for three counts of Assault and one count of Assault with a Weapon. He remains in custody and will appear for a Bail Hearing on September 21st, 2012. The victim received minor injuries.
