LoyalistCollegeStudent Placement

Belleville Police Service has mentored students of Loyalist College's Police Foundations course for more than 30 years. April 22, 2011 is the last day of placement for 6 Police Foundation students from Loyalist College. Their placement began on 28 March, 2011 and each student was assigned to a platoon within Operations.

The students were partnered with a coach officer and were exposed to any and all aspects of the duties that the officer would deal with as a part of each shift.

Cecilia Reilly (Loyalist College Police Foundations - Program co-coordinator) described the relationship between the program and Belleville Police "as an ongoing partnership where the students have come to expect intensive exposure to a wide variety of occurrences in an authentic environment?.

One student said "?.I will take everything I have learned with me on my journey to become a police officer.? Belleville Police Service is grateful for the opportunity to build relationships with our youth, foster careers in policing and relive (through the student) the feeling of accomplishment when helping others. Belleville Police will continue to strengthen its partnerships within the community and cultivate its motto "Partners with the Community?.
