Accidents

 

Belleville, Ontario On October 21st, 2014, at 12:21 p.m. police attended on Bridge Street East near Pinnacle Street in relation to a two-car accident. A 48 year old Belleville man was charged with failing to yield to traffic.  There were no injuries.

 

On October 21st, 2014, at 10:24 p.m. police attended on Finch Drive in relation to a two-car accident.  A 56 year old Belleville man was charged with an unsafe pass.  There were no injuries.

 

 

Trafficking in Narcotics

 

Belleville, Ontario - On October 21st, 2014, at 11:13 a.m. police attended on College Street West on a concern that two young men were selling marijuana. Two males were arrested and a quantity of packaged marijuana was seized.  James Redcliffe, 21 years, and Shane Lowery, 20 years, both of Belleville, were charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.  They will appear in court on November 27th, 2014.

 

 

Robbery

 

Belleville, Ontario On October 21st, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. a 14 year old youth reported that he had been pushed into the Moira River and his fly fishing pole had been stolen.  The youth advised that he was fishing by the Lott Dam when he observed two older men fishing in the river with hip waders on. One of them pushed him from behind into the water.  They picked up his rod along the shore and left the area.  The first suspect is a white male, 40 years of age, 6 tall, slim build with long red hair and a red moustache. He was wearing green chest waders and a dark sweater hoodie.  The second male is white, 18 years of age, short brown hair, clean cut, wearing green chest waders and a dark hoodie. Transportation Fraud

 

Belleville, Ontario On October 21st, 2014, at 10:00 p.m. police attended on West Moira Street in relation to a male who wouldnt pay for his cab ride.  This male fled on foot prior to police arrival but left his wallet and identification behind in the taxi.  A check on the name revealed that the suspect was wanted by Renfrew OPP. The suspect, who had been crouching in a nearby swamp, emerged soaking wet and surrendered to the officers who were still on scene. The 38 year old Shannonville man was arrested without incident. Alcohol was a factor in this incident.
