Disturbances

 

Belleville, Ontario – On December 21st, 2016, at 8:42 p.m. officers attended on Turnbull Street in relation to an intoxicated male who had been lying in the street. A 46-year-old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a ticket for being intoxicated in a public place.

 

On December 21st, 2016, at 11:03 p.m. officers attended on Front St. in relation to a male stumbling out into traffic. A 38-year-old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged accordingly.

 

On December 22nd, 2016, at 1:20 a.m. officers were conducting bar checks in the downtown core. The officers observed a male attempting to start fights with other patrons. A 21-year-old Napanee man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged accordingly.

 

 

Motor vehicle collisions

 

Belleville, Ontario – On December 21st, 2016, officers responded to 10 accidents across the City. Most of them occurred in busy parking lots.

 

At 12:42 p.m. police attended on Dundas Street West for a two-car accident. Two of the occupants suffered minor injuries. One driver was charged with failing to yield.

 

At 2:32 p.m. police attended at the Tim Horton’s on College Street at Cannifton Road as a car had driven through one of the windows into the restaurant. No one was injured inside. The building sustained structural damage and the car was towed from the scene. The driver was not injured. No charges as the accident occurred on private property.

 

At 5:20 p.m. police attended on West Moira Street at Yeomans Street as a car had struck a utility pole. No one was injured in this accident. The car was heavily damaged while the pole sustained minor damage only. The investigation is continuing.

 

 

RIDE Program

 

Belleville, Ontario – The RIDE Team checked 287 cars at various checkpoints around the City overnight. Two people were charged with having open liquor on North Front Street.
