The Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service between December 21st, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and December 22nd, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Drug Seizure and charges

Belleville, ON – On December 21st, 2019, at 8:02 a.m. an officer on patrol checked a parked car and occupants in a motel parking lot on North Front Street. The officer observed marijuana consumption as well as open liquor in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine. Also seized was Canadian currency and a cell phone. A 22-year-old Trenton woman was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine as well as proceeds of crime. She will appear in court on January 30th, 2020.

Arrested on warrants

Belleville, ON – On December 21st, 2019, at 1:44 p.m. police attended on Ridgeway Place. 36-year old Richard Allan Vader of Trenton was arrested on a warrant held by the Belleville Police Service. He was released with a court date of January 16th, 2020 on a charge of theft under $5000.00.

On December 21st, 2019, at 10:43 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on West Moira Street. A check revealed that 37-year-old Jamie Anderson of Belleville was wanted by the Quinte West OPP on outstanding warrants. She was escorted to the Quinte West OPP detachment to deal with her matters.

Pick-up truck strikes building

Belleville, ON – On December 21st, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. police attended at 187 North Front Street as a pick-up truck had struck a building. The southbound pick-up truck was cut off initially by an unknown vehicle. The pick-up truck veered across both northbound lanes and left the roadway. The truck sheered off a fire hydrant before striking the building. The fire hydrant narrowly missed a pedestrian. The pick-up truck was demolished, and the building suffered extensive damage. There were no injuries. The investigation is focusing on the car that cut off the pick-up truck. Any information can be forwarded to Constable Dave Bradley at dbradley@police.belleville.on.ca

Disturbances

Belleville, ON – On December 22nd, 2019, at 1:30 a.m. police attended at a licenced establishment on North Front Street with regards to an assaultive woman. A 21-year-old Trenton woman was arrested for her own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. She was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
