Stolen vehicle

Belleville – On the 21st of September 2018 at 11:45 a.m. police received a call for service with regards to a stolen vehicle. While inside a north end retail store, the owner of the vehicle left his keys inside of it and it was taken. Police responded to the area and located the vehicle being driven on Craig St. The vehicle was stopped and a lone female was arrested for theft of the car. 36 year old Belleville resident Susan Hannah was taken to The Belleville Police Service where she was later released on a promise to appear with an October court date to answer to the charge.

 

Domestic assault/ Assault police

Belleville – on the 21st of September 2018 shortly before 9:00 p.m. police responded to an east end residence with regards to a domestic assault in progress and for the second consecutive night deployed the Taser to affect an arrest. Upon arrival the responding officer observed a male assaulting a female inside the doorway to the residence. When the male observed the police officer, he threw a marijuana bong at him and attempted to flee to his vehicle when he was tasered. The 36 year old Belleville resident was taken into custody and later released on a promise to appear with an October court date where he will answer to charges including assault, utter threats, assault police officer and assault with intent to resist arrest. Names are being withheld to protect the identity of the family.

 

Domestic assault with a weapon

Belleville – On the 21st of September at 11:45 p.m. police responded with EMS to the report of a stabbing in the city’s east end. Upon arrival, a 35 year old male was taken to Belleville General Hospital by EMS for a minor stab wound to his shoulder. Police investigation led to his common law wife being arrested for assault with a weapon. The 34 year old female was transported to The Belleville Police Service where she is being held for video remand on the 22nd of September.

 

Public intoxication

Belleville – On the 22nd of September 2018 shortly before 12:30 a.m. police responded to the report of a heavily intoxicated male wandering the halls of a north end hotel. The male reportedly was being verbally aggressive towards staff and at one point urinated in the hallway. The 44 year old Manotick resident was arrested by police and taken the The Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a provincial offence notice.
