Stolen Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario ? On 22 August, 2011 at 3:53 p.m., police attended on Adam Street in response to a complaint of a stolen Freightliner tractor. It was reported that between Saturday, 20 August and Sunday 21 August, 2011 a white freightliner with Day & Ross in orange and black lettering on both sides was stolen. This vehicle had an Ontario plate 8059XM attached.

Suspicious Person/Scam

Belleville, Ontario ? On 17 August, 2011 police requested the publics' assistance to identify a suspicious male that was believed to have been involved in incidents on 14 and 16 August, 2011 where a male had approached person(s) unknown to him and asked for money to assist him in rescuing his wife and son (who were stranded at different locations along highway 401.

On 19 August, 2011 police were informed of an incident that occurred on 13 August, 2011 at approximately 5:45 p.m... It was reported that a male described as a being in his 30's over 6 feet with short sandy brown hair and a brown mustache was driving a Ford approx 1990 pick-up truck with a cab and a half, three quarter ton diesel, black four by four with a steal back rack behind the cab approached the complainant and requested that he have 20$ to purchase gas to be able to attend in Port Hope to rescue his stranded wife and child.

On 19 August, 2011 police arrested and charged Erich William Worbs (34 years) of Trenton for one count of Fraud Under $ 5000.00 and one count of Breach of Probation. Worbs will appear for a bail hearing on 25 August, 2011. This investigation is ongoing.
