Breach of Probation
Belleville, Ont. - On June 23, 2009, at 10:15 a.m. an officer on patrol observed a pedestrian reaching through the window of a parked service van in the City?s west end. The Officer spoke with the man and learned that there were warrants for his arrest for 4 counts of Breach of Probation and Fail to Comply with a condition of a recognizance. The 53 year old Belleville man was held for Bail. Nothing was taken from the parked vehicle.
Theft of Motor Vehicle
Belleville, Ont. - On June 23, 2009, at 12:15 p.m., an officer on patrol stopped a car on Catharine St. as the suspected the driver did not have a driver?s licence. Not only was he unlicensed, but he had also taken the car without the owner?s permission. He was arrested and held for a Bail Hearing on June 24th. This 17 year old Belleville youth was also charged with Breach of Probation. The car was returned to the rightful owner.
Belleville, Ont. - On June 23, 2009, at 4:00 p.m., Police attended at a warehouse on College St. E. The investigation revealed that an employee was involved in a theft of $1100.00 worth of merchandise over the last two days. As a result of an investigation, a 20 year old Belleville man was charged with Theft under $5000.00.
Belleville, Ont. - On June 23, 2009 at approximately 5:00 p.m., police responded to a suspicious person call in the city?s east end. A male was observed going into a home through an upper window. Once on scene, police began to investigate the actions of the city man. After receiving more information police were required to further investigate the address in the Victoria Avenue area. As a result, a marihuana grow-op was located in a bedroom within the residence. Police seized an unspecified number of pot plants and drug paraphernalia. The investigation is continuing, and a 39 year-old man is facing possible charges.
Belleville, Ont. - On June 23, 2009, at approximately 7:30 p.m. police responded to a call of a disturbance in the Dunbar St and Bridge St W area. A male and a female at that location were investigated. As a result a 49 year old Belleville male was arrested on warrants from Kingston Police Service for Theft Under $5000 and Breach of Probation.
Belleville, Ont. - On June 23, 2009, police responded to a complaint of a domestic disturbance in the Octavia St and Bridge St W area at approximately 10:30 p.m. An investigation revealed that a city man and a woman became engaged in a heated verbal argument. There was no physical confrontation involved. Both were spoken to and advice was distributed by police on how to better manage their situation.
A second domestic occurrence was reported to police from the far north end of the city just before 11:00 p.m. Police responded and spoke to a male and a female. Alcohol was a factor in this occurrence. After a discussion with police, both agreed to keep the peace and quietly left the area together in a cab.
