Domestic Assault
Belleville, Ontario – On the 22nd of March 2017 at approximately 4pm, the Belleville Police Service were contacted regarding a domestic dispute in the west end of Belleville. As a result of the investigation, it was learned that a 34 year old Belleville man had assaulted his common-law partner in the face with a cigarette causing minor injuries and later refused to let them leave the building. As a result, the 34 year old male was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and forcible confinement. The male was released on a Promise to Appear and an Officer in Charge Undertaking with conditions.
Theft
On the 22nd of March 2017 at approximately 5pm, 2 suspects entered a business in the north end of Belleville and stole $2600 worth of women’s perfume and then departed the store. Belleville Police responded and are working with store officials to try and identify the suspects through in-store security cameras. Warrant
On the 23rd of March 2017 in the early morning hours, an officer on patrol in the central region of Belleville observed a male whom he knew to be the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant for 2 counts of failing to comply with a probation order. As a result, a 41 year old Belleville resident was arrested on the strength of the warrant. The male was later released on a Promise to Appear with a Belleville court date.
