Break Enter and Theft ? (update)
Belleville, Ontario ? On November 23, 2009 at 5:15 a.m., Police responded to an alarm which turned out to be a Break and Enter at Cannifton Road restaurant. Investigation determined that the suspects made entry through a ceiling vent. Once inside the premise, they removed an, as of yet, undetermined amount of money. Belleville Police Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene for expert examination and the investigation is continuing.
Motor Vehicle Collision ? Personal Injury
Belleville, Ontario ? On November 23, 2009 at approximately 10:38 am, Police, Ambulance and Belleville Fire Department Crews responded to a motor vehicle collision at Moira Street West and Palmer Road. The incident resulted in the roadway being closed to traffic for a period of time while crews worked to free a woman who was in the vehicle. The Belleville Police Service Forensics Unit also attended for further expert examination of the scene. Damages to both vehicles were significant and the female victim was transported to Belleville General Hospital for treatment for minor injuries. The roadway was reopened to traffic once investigators were clear from the scene. This motor vehicle accident is still under investigation.
Theft from Vehicle
Belleville, Ontario ? On November 23, 2009 at approximately 1:56pm, Police received a theft complaint from a Belleville resident. The victim had attended at a drug store at the Quinte Mall. She ran into the store leaving her vehicle unlocked and returned moments later to discover her purse had been stolen from inside the vehicle. The purse is described as a denim Tommy Hilfiger bag which contained a black ladies clutch wallet with various identification.
Mischief
Belleville, Ontario ? On November 23, 2009 at 2:37pm, Police attended
a business on North Park Street that had been vandalized by graffiti. Sometime over night suspects sprayed the business using green paint. This incident is currently under investigation.
