Bail Violations//Obstruct Police
Belleville, Ontario – On September 22nd, 2017, at 9:50 a.m. an officer on patrol observed a woman on North Front Street who was supposed to be under house arrest from a recent bail release. When the officer approached the female she discarded an item from her backpack. The female’s friend collected the item and ran into an apartment. The female, a 29-year-old Belleville woman, was arrested and held for a bail hearing on a charge of breach of a recognizance. A second woman was arrested and charged with obstructing Police. Carla Walker, 30, of Belleville will appear in court in November.
Belleville, Ontario – On September 22nd, 2017, at 10:45 p.m. officers set up a checkpoint on North Front Street at Strachan Street.
Shortly after midnight, a car rolled up to the officers with a disturbance within the vehicle. The female passenger in the front seat was throwing punches at a female passenger in the back seat. Officers intervened and removed the female from the front seat. A 21-year-old Belleville woman was arrested for breach of the peace. Alcohol was a factor in this incident. No one was injured. A small amount of marijuana was also seized.
A total of 94 cars were checked. No roadside tests were administered. No charges were laid.
Belleville, Ontario – On September 22nd, 2017, at 7:52 a.m. a traffic stop on Bridge Street West led to a charge of driving while under suspension. The 46-year-old Belleville man will appear in Traffic Court in November.
On September 22nd, 2017, at 10:22 a.m. a traffic stop on Church Street led to a charge of driving under suspension. The 31-year old Belleville man will also appear in Traffic Court.
On September 22nd, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. an officer stopped a speeder on Hwy 62 at 40 km/h over the posted limit. The driver had been consuming alcohol and was placed on a roadside screening device. The driver registered a “warning” which would normally carry a three-day licence suspension. In this case, the driver had already been issued a 3-day suspension in the past. A second offence carries a 7-day suspension of a driver’s licence. His car was towed from the scene. He also received a speeding ticket.
Belleville, Ontario – On September 23rd, 2017, at 3:00 a.m. police attended on Bridge Street West at James Street in relation to a domestic disturbance. The caller added that the woman was lying on the roadway. Both parties were intoxicated and were arrested for their own protection. Both were charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
Breach of Recognizance.
Belleville Ont, At 0950 hrs an officer on patrol observed a female in her 20’s outside of an address on North Front st. He knew that she was on a court order not to be out of her residence. He stopped to speak to her when she threw an item out of her backpack up a set of stairs. The suspect’s female friend took the item and ran into an apartment. As a result of the investigation the female in her 20;s was charged with one count of Breach of Recognizance and was held for a bail hearing on 25 Sept 2017.
The second female identified as Carla Walker also in her 20’s, was arrested and charged with one count of obstruct police. She has a court date in November. The item was recovered but empty.
