Belleville, Ontario – On April 23rd, 2015, at 6:34 a.m. an officer clocked a vehicle at 119 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone on Dundas Street East. The 56 year old Belleville man was charged with stunt driving and will appear in Traffic Court. His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was impounded.
On April 23rd, 2015, at 4:14 p.m. police attended at the intersection of College Street and Sidney Street in relation in relation to a two-car accident. One of the drivers reported minor injuries. A 45 year old Belleville woman was charged with following too closely.
On April 23rd, 2015, at 10:11 p.m. police attended at the intersection of Adam Street and Bell Blvd. in relation to an accident involving a city street cleaner and a car. EMS attended at the scene and treated the occupants of the car for minor injuries. This investigation is continuing.
Belleville, Ontario – On April 23rd, 2015, at 6:35 police attended at a financial institution on Bell Blvd. in relation to a fraud complaint. An alert bank official determined that a male had presented fake government identification in an attempt to open a bank account. Two Toronto men were taken into custody. Both are 26 years of age and hail from Mississauga. Their charges include attempted fraud, impersonation, breach of undertaking, and possession of a controlled substance. Both will appear for a bail hearing on April 24th, 2015.
On April 23rd, 2015, police concluded a two-day investigation into allegations that a male was soliciting funds from local businesses. 29 year old Michael Dunlop of Belleville was charged with breach of probation and will appear in court in May. Police are urging the public to verify the identification of people who are soliciting for charities.
