Belleville, Ontario On September 23rd, 2013, at 9:00 p.m. police attended at a business on Sidney Street in relation to a male who had fraudulently obtained a gift card. It was learned that the male had returned clothing earlier in the day in the amount of $70.00. The male was issued a gift card reflecting that amount. A check of the surveillance tapes revealed that the male had shoplifted the items. The male returned later to use his gift card and was arrested. The gift card was recovered. A 21 year old man of "no fixed address was held for a Bail hearing on charges of Theft under $5000 and Breach of Probation. He was also wanted by the Peterborough-Lakefield Police Service on similar charges.
