Breach of Peace
Belleville, Ont. - On June 24, 2009, at 2:00 a.m. police responded to a bar in the Front St area for a report of a fight. An officer on patrol located the suspects and advised other units who were in close proximity. Police intervened in the disturbance and one male was arrested for Breach of the Peace. He was lodged into a holding cell for a short time, and later released uncondtitionally.
In total, police responded to 33 other calls involving trouble with youth, noise complaints, unwanted persons, neighbour disputes, and traffic complaints, one of which resulted in a 26-year old Belleville man receiving a 3-day driving licence suspension for providing a ?warn? during a roadside demand of his breath for alcohol consumption.
Stolen vehicle
Belleville, Ontario. - On June 24, 2009, at 4:45 p.m., Police attended at the car pool at Hwy 37 at the 401. A 1992 Honda Accord had been stolen during the day. This vehicle is dark blue in colour and bears Ontario licence plate # ALWB 143.
A further check of the car pool area revealed a stolen vehicle from Kingston. The 1995 Dodge Ram pick-up truck had been reported stolen to the Kingston Police earlier in the day at 9:15 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
Car strikes pole
Belleville, Ontario. - On June 24, 2009, at 6:20 p.m., Police attended on River Road in Corbyville in relation to a single vehicle accident. The investigation revealed that a southbound car struck a hydro pole on the west side of the road. The bottom half of the pole was sheared off. EMS attended to treat the driver for burns she sustained from the deployed airbags. Belleville Fire Dept. was also on scene as the road was closed for three hours. Emergency crews from Hydro and Bell both attended.
An 18 year old Belleville woman was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
Broken window leads to a Domestic Assault charge
Belleville, Ontario. - On June 24, 2009, at 7:45 p.m., an Officer was flagged down on West Moira St. by a woman. This woman advised that her boyfriend had just broken a window in the residence. The boyfriend was arrested in the backyard. Further investigation revealed that she had been punched in the face by the boyfriend on June 20th and was suffering from a black eye. As a result, a 26 year old Belleville man was charged with Mischief to Property, Domestic Assault, and two counts of Breach of Probation. He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing on June 25th.
Belleville, Ontario. - On June 24, 2009, at 8:45 p.m., a motorist observed an altercation on Yeomans St. She advised that she observed a male curled up on ground in the fetal position. Another male was standing overtop with a silver handgun pressed against the temple of the male on the ground. There was a third male present.
The motorist estimated the ages of the involved parties as being between 18 and 20 years of age. The suspect was wearing a two-tone striped brown shirt and dark pants. He had a slim build.
The male on the ground was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. The identity of these involved parties remains unknown.
