Belleville, Ont. ? On May 24, 2010, a resident on Stone Street reported a Break & Enter to his home. The incident occurred sometime between 5:00 p.m. on the 23rd to 10:00 a.m. on the 24th. Suspects cut the screen on a front window of the home to gain entry and once inside removed a 32? FLAT SCREEN LCD KONKA TV.
A Garage was broken into over the weekend in the east end of Belleville on Golfdale Rd. The homeowner came home to find his garage had been entered via a window and taken was stereo system, golf clubs and bag, and various tools.
On May 24, 2010, at 10:33 p.m., residents on Pine Street heard a loud bang on the main floor of their home. Police were called as the home owner suspected someone had entered the house. Police searched the residence and found that suspects had removed the air conditioner unit from the window, entered the home, and then exited though the front door when the homeowner yelled out that they were calling the police. Nothing was taken as a result of the entry. This incident is currently under investigation.
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 24, 2010, at 9:30 p.m., police received a complaint of an erratic driver in the Dundas Street West area. Further investigation lead police to a Sidney Street address where they located a female with the vehicle. Charged with one count each of Impaired Driving and Over 80 is Corrine OSBORNE, 46 years old, from Ameliasburg. OSBORNE was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date set in June 2010.
Belleville, Ont. ? Several businesses on Front Street were painted sometime over night between the 23rd and 24th of May. Suspects used white paint and a wide brush to randomly paint the front and/or back of 15 addresses on the west side of Front Street. This incident is currently under investigation and anyone with information that may assist police is asked to call Crime Stoppers or the Belleville Police Service.
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 24, 2010, a resident from Humewood Drive reported his pick up truck stolen. The vehicle went missing from his driveway sometime 11:00 p.m. on the 23rd to the morning of the 24th. The vehicle is a 1998 GMC Sierra extended cab pick-up truck with plate number 2922TT. The vehicle is two tone blue with a gray bottom. The keys were not left in the vehicle at the time it was stolen
Theft from Motor Vehicle
Belleville, Ont. ? On May 24, 2010, an employee at a North Front Street restaurant parked her vehicle at the rear of the business. At approximately 10:30a.m., neighbours in the area heard what sounded like breaking glass. Further investigation revealed unknown persons had smashed the driver window of the vehicle and removed the victim's purse from within the car. Within an hour of the theft suspects attempted to use the victim's credit card however the transaction was declined.
In a similar incident from over night, a vehicle on Dundas Street East was entered a wallet was stolen. The owner reports suspects used his debit card and removed cash from his account. The debit pin number was also in the wallet with the card. Police wish to remind the public that security passwords such as PIN's should never be left in the same location as the card itself.
Belleville, Ont. - On May 24, 2010 at 1:00 a.m., police checked two males on Highland Ave. At the time police approached the males, one of them attempted to conceal an object in his right hand. When questioned the male turned over a ?window punch'.
A query revealed this same male was on a Recognizance with release conditions not to be in the company of the other male he was with at the time police checked him.
A 17 year old Belleville male was arrested and charged with one count each of Possession of Break-In Instruments, Prowl by Night, Breach of Probation, and 2 counts Fail to Comply. He has been held for a Bail Hearing. The second male, a 15 year old Belleville youth was released unconditionally. The name of the 17 year old male will not be released due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
