Impaired, Assault and Mischief
Belleville, Ontario – On the 23rd of May at 8:00 p.m. police were called to the scene of a disturbance on a west end crescent. Investigation revealed that a 34 year old Belleville male later identified as Jesse Jones was operating his El Camino on the street, conducting brake stands. When local residents attempted to ask him to stop he assaulted, threatened and damaged the property of one of the neighbourhood residents. Jones was arrested and brought to the cells where he continued his antics by urinating in and flooded the cell area in which he was lodged by damaging some of the plumbing. As he was intoxicated while driving, attempts were made to have him provide samples of his breath to determine his alcohol level but he refused to do so. Jones was released in the morning on a promise to appear with officer in charge conditions. His court date is set for the 13th of June at The Quinte Consolidated Court House. His charges include assault, uttering threats, impaired operation of a vehicle, dangerous driving, refusing to provide a breath sample and two counts of mischief. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
Belleville, Ontario – On the 23rd of May at 10:45 p.m. police were called to a disruptive male at the emergency unit of Quinte Health Care. The male had been brought in earlier in the night by paramedics who were called to an unresponsive male in the area of North Park St. The male began harassing other patients and when it was determined that he was not in need of treatment he refused to leave. Upon police arrival his level of intoxication and demeanor was such that police arrested him for the protection of himself and others. The 56 year old Belleville resident was lodged in cells overnight and released in the morning on a provincial offence notice for public intoxication.
Breach of Probation and Undertaking
Belleville, Ontario – On the 24th of May at 2:15 a.m. police received a report of an intoxicated female on Bridge St. W. in the area of the downtown. Upon arrival police located the 25 year old female and it was found that she was on both probation and on an undertaking for charges of breaching a recognizance and resisting arrest of which one of the conditions was not to consume alcohol. She was transported to The Belleville Police Service and is being held for a bail hearing on the 24th of May at 1:00 p.m. at The Quinte Consolidated Court House.
Belleville, Ontario – On the 24th of May at approximately 12:30 a.m. police observed a dog wandering in the vicinity of Dundas St. E. and Herchimer Ave. that appeared to be lost. Police were able to corral the K9 and are temporarily housing it at The Belleville Police Service in hopes the owner will contact them.
