Accidents

Belleville, Ontario On November 23rd, between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., Police responded to 8 accidents across the City.

At 10:49 a.m., Police responded to a two-car accident on Cannifton Road. One of the drivers had to be extricated from his car by Belleville Fire Dept. Three persons were taken by EMS to Quinte Health Care for treatment of minor injuries. This investigation is continuing.

At 7:40 p.m., Police responded to a two-car accident on Sidney Street at College Street. A 22 year old Belleville woman was charged with Careless Driving.

At 9:00 p.m., Police responded to a three-car accident on Bell Blvd. A 28 year old Belleville woman was charged with Careless Driving.

Shoplifter

Belleville, Ontario On November 23rd, 2012, at 12:15 p.m. Police attended at a business on Front St, in relation to a shoplifter. A male was observed on video stealing several movies. The Officer recognized the male as a person he had just passed on the way to the store. The Officer located this male and arrested him. All of the movies were recovered. Andrew Graeme Fox, 37, of Belleville was charged with Theft under $5000.00 and two counts of breach of probation. He will appear in Court on Jan. 10th, 2013.

Impaired Driver

Belleville, Ontario On November 23rd, 2012, at 3:23 p.m., Police received several reports of an impaired driver on Dundas Street West. This vehicle was stopped, and the driver was arrested for impaired driving. Ronald Meilleur, 45, of Quinte West, was charged with Impaired Driving, Over 80 mgs, and Driving while under suspension. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days. He will appear in court on December 20th, 2012.
