Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? on 21 October, 2011 at 5:02 p.m., police attended at a residence on Moira Street West in response to a complaint of a break and enter that occurred between 20 October, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. and 21 October, 2011 at 4:30 p.m... It was reported that unknown person(s) forced entry and stole electronics.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 23 October, 2011 at 12:13 p.m., police attended at a residence on Dufferin Avenue in response to a complaint of break and enter. It was reported that unknown person(s) entered between the garage between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. and stole tires.

These investigations are ongoing.


Belleville, Ontario ? Between 21 October, 2011 and 22 October, 2011 at 12:49 p.m., police attended at 7 residences at various locations throughout the city in response to complaints by vehicle owners that unknown person(s) had smashed at least one window in their vehicles. Police are asking that anyone with information in relation to these incidents to call Belleville Police Service at 613 966 - 0882 or Crime Stoppers at 613 969-8477.

Aggravated Assault Arrest

Belleville, Ontario ? On 16 October, 2011 at 3:12 a.m., police attended at a business in the 300 block of North Front Street in response to a complaint from an employee about a disturbance.

It was reported to police that this disturbance was the result of 2 males that initially entered into an argument which escalated into a fight.

EMS attended to assist the victim and transported the victim to QHC for treatment of non life threatening injuries.

Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigations Division's investigation of this disturbance led to a 28 year old Belleville man being charged with one count of Aggravated Assault on 21 October, 2011.

Derek James Shorey is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on 1 December, 2011.
