Belleville Police are looking to identify the owner of a dog whose canine was involved in a biting incident at the Bay View Mall on Thursday Sept. 20/12 at approximately 6:45 p.m.

At that time, the dog - described as a darker animal with a long tail - bit a patron of the mall while it was tied up outside the convenience store on the east side of the shopping centre.

The female who was caring for the dog was inside the store at the time. Despite being informed of police and ambulance being en route to the scene, the female fled on foot. She is described as wearing black, with blondish hair, glasses and heavy set.

An image of the female at the front counter of the store has been attached to this e-mail. The victim in this incident was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening puncture wounds to his leg.

Anyone with information about the incident or identity of the female is asked to contact Const. Jeremy Ashley at 613-966-0882 ext. 4158 or Crime Stoppers at 613-969-8477.
