Arrested on warrants


Belleville, Ontario – On September 23rd, 2017, at 10:48 a.m. an officer on Front Street arrested a 35-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman on outstanding warrants held by OPP. Both parties were turned over to the OPP.





Belleville, Ontario – On September 24th, 2017, at 12:02 a.m. officers responded to a mischief call on West Street. The homeowner reported that someone had hit the house with a rock. As a result of an investigation a vehicle was stopped in the City’s west end and a 53-year-old Quinte West man was arrested. A slingshot, a bag of rocks, a machete, and a balaclava were seized from the vehicle.


Since July 1st, 2017, the home on West Street and a home on Burnham Street had experienced similar acts of mischief. Rocks and ball bearings had struck doors and windows of both residences. 11 counts of mischief were laid, one count of Arson, two counts of criminal harassment, and one charge of wearing a disguise while committing an indictable offence. The Arson charge was in relation to a chicken coop that burnt at the rear of the West Street residence on September 8th, 2017. There were no chickens in the coop at the time.


The male was held for a bail hearing.
