Belleville Police Service responded to 46 calls for service from the 23rd of January, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. to the 24th of January, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.
Belleville, ON – On the 23rd of January 2019 at 2:00 p.m., police responded to a northend retail store with regard to the report of a 33 year-old Belleville male and his 13 year-old daughter who had both been arrested for shoplifting. Investigation resulted in the 13 year-old being released without charges, but her father was issued a form 9 appearance notice with a February court date to answer to the charge of theft under $5000. Names are being withheld at this time to protect the identity of the young offender.
Overnight and winter parking/stopping
Belleville, ON – City of Belleville residents are reminded that overnight parking is prohibited on any city street from November 2nd – April 14th between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. to ensure that snow clearing operations can be completed. Vehicles in contravention of this can be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.
Further, during a snowstorm, when snow clearing operations are underway, no stopping of a vehicle is permitted on any city street. Snow-clearing operations typically take place between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. The fine for this offence is $75 and your vehicle will be towed. All vehicles will be towed to The Quinte Towing compound and can be claimed the following day. All expenses are the responsibility of the owner.
