The Belleville Police Service responded to 67 calls for service from November 23, 2018 at 5 am to November 24, 2018 at 5 am.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, ON – A two-vehicle collision took place on Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd at 2:52pm.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to damage sustained in the crash and one driver was taken to Quinte Health Care for minor injuries.  Investigation is ongoing.

Impaired Driving/Drugs

Belleville, ON – A vehicle was pulled over on N. Front Street for travelling at a high rate of speed at 2:40 am by police.  It was determined the driver had been consuming alcohol and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.  During the investigation, a small amount of cocaine was located in the driver’s jacket.  As a result of the investigation, the male driver was issued a 72-hour driver’s license suspension, charged criminally with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, and numerous Highway Traffic Act offences.  He was released with a court date of December 8, 2018.

Liquor License Act

Belleville, ON – A 23 year old man was arrested under the Liquor License Act for his own protection at 3:50 am on Cannifton Rd.  Police located the individual after a complaint was received of a man wondering on a nearby business property.  It was determined by police that he had consumed an excess amount of alcohol and was unable to properly care for himself.  He has been issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor License act.
