Belleville, Ontario - at approximately 8:40 p.m. on October 24, 2012 officers were dispatched to the Catharine Street / Octavia Street area of the city to investigate a report that a male victim had been pepper sprayed and had his I-Phone 4S stolen. On arrival they discovered that the male had arranged through Kijiji to sell his cell phone to another male and to meet with him at that location to make the transaction. The male suspect attended with two others on foot and after spraying the victim, grabbed the phone and took off southbound on Octavia. The suspects were described as white males wearing dark clothing, one wearing a red t-shirt. The victim was taken to BGH by ambulance and treated and released. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call the Belleville Police Service or Qunte Crimestoppers.

Theft of Motor Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario - at approximately 12:27 am on October 25, 2012 officers were dispatched to a Palmer Road residence to investigate a report of a stolen vehicle. The red 2004 Chevrolet Impala was stolen from the driveway of the home and a short time later was observed by officers on Yeomans Street. It took off at a high rate of speed northbound until the driver reached a dead end and fled from the car on foot out on to the CN rail tracks. The O.P.P. canine unit was called in to assist in the search for the suspect which came up negative. The investigation is continuing for the suspect who is described as being a white male, early 20's, with tattoos on his fingers. The Impala was recovered undamaged from the scene. Anyone with any information about the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Belleville Police Service or Quinte Crimestoppers.
