Belleville Police Service responded to 70 calls for service from the 24th of April 2019 at 5:00 a.m. to the 25th of April 2019 at 5:00 a.m.


Belleville, Ontario – On the 24th of April shortly before 8:00 p.m. police were called to a Bell Blvd. retail store with regards to a male shoplifter. Upon arrival a 36 year old Belleville male was arrested for shoplifting. After concluding their investigation, police released the male on a provincial offence notice for engaging in a prohibited activity on private property contrary to The Trespass to Property Act.


Belleville, Ontario - Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on the 24th of April police responded to a west end group home with regards to a 16 year old female who had used a fire extinguisher to cause damage to the home. The female, who cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and held in custody overnight to prevent any further offence. She was released back to the home in the morning on a promise to appear. She was given a court date of May 21st to answer to one charge of mischief under $5000.

Public Intoxication

Belleville, Ontario – At 10:10 p.m. on the 24th of April police were called to a Station St. address with regards to an unwanted male. Shortly after police arrived they located and arrested a 49 year old city male who was in the area for public intoxication. He was taken to The Belleville Police Service where he was held until morning at which time he was released on a provincial offence notice.
