Liquor Licence Act

 

Belleville, Ontario – On December 24th, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. officers attended on Highland Avenue in relation to a male passed out on a front porch. A 39-year-old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.

 

Fail to Remain

 

Belleville, Ontario – On December 24th, 2018, at 7:25 p.m. police were called to Prince of Wales Drive as a car had struck a pole. According to witnesses the male driver had fled on foot. The driver’s airbag had been deployed as there was extensive front end damage to the car. Officers followed the footprints to College Street. The prints went east to Cannifton Road; then east on Station Street to Bleecker Avenue. At 7:57 p.m. the driver was located and arrested on Bleecker Avenue. The driver had been consuming alcohol and admitted that there was no insurance on his car. The 40-year old Belleville man received a three-day licence suspension. He has a February 4th court date in Traffic Court on charges of careless driving, fail to remain at the scene of an accident, fail to report an accident, no insurance, and having an expired valtag sticker. He suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

 

Other motor vehicle collisions

 

Belleville, Ontario – On December 24th, 2018, at 5:37 a.m. police attended on North Front Street at Bell Blvd in relation to a two-car accident. One motorist was charged with following too closely. There were no injuries.

 

At 10:53 a.m. a minor accident was reported in a parking lot on Bell Blvd. It was referred to the Collision reporting Centre.

 

At 12:10 p.m. police attended on Harmony Road at Bronk Road regarding a two-car accident. Officers investigated a similar accident at this intersection on December 22nd. A motorist was charged with failing to yield to traffic. There were no injuries.

 

At 7:03 p.m. police attended on North Front Street at West Moira Street regarding a two-car collision. There were no charges; nor were there any injuries.

 

At 7:11 p.m. police attended on Dundas Street East at Bleecker Avenue regarding a two-car collision. There were no charges; nor were there any injuries.

 

 

Three-day suspension for drugs

 

Belleville, Ontario – On December 24th, 2018, at 11:54 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on Hwy 62 at the 401 ramp. The resulting investigation revealed that the 17-year old youth from Lansdowne was unfit to drive given his drug consumption. He was issued a 3-day licence suspension and his driver’s licence was seized. He was charged with being a novice driver with drugs in his system.

 

 

Arrested on warrants

 

Belleville, Ontario – On December 25th, 2018, at 2:10 a.m. a 20-year old Belleville man attended at the station looking to have his girlfriend removed from his apartment. A check revealed that this male was wanted on warrants by the Quinte West OPP for being unlawfully in a dwelling house and theft under $5000.00. He was arrested on the strength of the warrants and driven to the Quinte West OPP detachment.
