Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? February 25, 2010 at 8:37 a.m. police attended at a business on Albion Street in response to a break and enter. The owner of the business reported that unknown person(s) gained entry sometime overnight and stole an air compressor along with tools for the air compressor and a computer monitor. This investigation is ongoing.

Theft

Belleville, Ontario ? February 25, 2010 at 8:03 a.m. police attended at a residence on Yeoman Street in response to a theft complaint. The victim reported that sometime between 10:00 p.m. on February 24, 2010 and 8:03 a.m. February 25, 2010 unknown person(s) remove the gate and chopped off the lock and stole his 2008 Red Suzuki King Quad ATV with attached marker 70PE4 , valued at $7500.00 and a Husquvarna chain saw. This investigation is ongoing.

Motor Vehicle Collision(s)

Belleville, Ontario ? Police investigated 8 separate motor vehicle collisions throughout the day on 25 February, 2010. Six of these were single motor vehicle collisions that were attributed to weather conditions. Police are reminding motorists that it is the driver's responsibility to adjust their driving speed to safely meet existing road conditions. There were no injuries reported for any of the collisions.
Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? February 25 2010, at 4:12a.m., Police attended at a residence on University Avenue in response to a break and enter. The resident reported that a male in his late 20's wearing a touque and long baggy jacket,with brown hair, had stolen a lap top computer from her home and left northbound on University Avenue. A short time later a cab was stopped at the Cannifton Road and College Street East, intersection. A male matching the suspect's description was located in the cab and was in possession of the stolen lap top computer as well as other stolen property. A 29 year old Belleville man is charged with Break, Enter and Commit and 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property and will appear in provincial court on 25 February, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
