Road Closure

On January 25th, at 11:30 a.m., Airport Parkway was closed between Elmwood Drive and Mitchell Road due to flooding. Traffic has been re-routed on Elmwood Drive and Mitchell Road. Barricades have been erected by Public Works who are monitoring the situation.
Caution is also urged at the south end of Elmwood Drive at Hwy 2 as water is starting to pool. The section remains open.
Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? On January 25, 2010, at 6:11 p.m., the Belleville police responded to residence on Holloway Street in response to a break and enter. The suspects(s) stole 2 ACER laptop computers, one is 15? and the other 17? and both are black in colour. There was also an unspecified amount of jewelry stolen. This investigation is ongoing.

Theft of Motor Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario ? On January 25, 2010, 10:15 a.m., police attended at a business on North Front Street after receiving a call from the owner of a black, 1997 Ford Explorer 4x4, attached Ontario plate ASBF 451. This vehicle was stolen sometime on 24 January 2010 between 6:00 am and 9:00am. This investigation is ongoing.

Theft

Belleville, Ontario ? On January 25, 2010 at 4:40 p.m., police attended at a department store on Bell Boulevard in response to a complaint from store security about 2 shoplifters. A 55 year old Belleville female and 58 year old Belleville femalewere arrested for theft under $5000.00 and will appear in court on March 11, 2010.

Theft of Motor Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario ? on January 25, 2010, police observed a 2006 Mercedes parked on McAnnany Street at Belleville City Hall. Police learned the vehicle had been reported stolen from Montreal in November 2009. At 5:07 p.m. two males from Montreal were observed in the vehicle and subsequently arrested. Charged with Possession of stolen property over $5000.00 is a 36 year old  male and 46 year old  male both of Montreal. Both men will appear in Provincial court on 25 January 2010 at show cause hearing.
