Homicide

 
Belleville, Ontario ? On July 23, 2009 at approximately 10:55 am, the Belleville Police Service responded to a request for assistance in the River behind 350 Front Street, Belleville. Police received reports of a body in the Moira River.

 

The Belleville Police and the Belleville Fire Department recovered the body of a 61 year old Belleville resident Robert VAILLANCOURT. 

 

A post mortem was held today and as a result of the findings this incident is being treated as a homicide. Police are not releasing the cause death at this time however is requesting assistance from the public.

 

This investigation is being lead by the Criminal Investigations Division and Forensic Identification Unit of the Belleville Police Service and no further information regarding this homicide is being released as it is currently under investigation.
